Tour players will compete in the following age divisions:

  • 10-12 Boys & Girls
  • 13-15 Boys
  • 16-18 Boys
  • 13-15 Girls
  • 16-18 Girls

Players will be assigned to play in the division where they are age-appropriate as of August 1, 2009. Players will remain in that assigned age group for the remainder of the 2009 season. May 15th is now the age determination date for the Tour.

A player is eligible to be a tour member if they are 18 or under. "Exception: Any player who is 18 or over and has not graduated from high school may join the Tour". A collegiate player may not join the tour regardless of age.
Players who are 18 years old on the day of the first Tour event may play in the 16-18 year old divisions. In addition, any player who is 18 on the date of the first event, and then becomes 19 during the season, may continue to play until the end of the season if the player is still in high school.

High school graduates who have not had their 19th birthday before August 1st may play regular season events until August 1st, 2009. These players may not qualify for the 2009 Tour Championship.

Also, 11 And 12 year old players who get a recommendation letter from their home golf professional attesting that their ability is at a high enough level, may apply to become Tour members. Any member who wishes to play must enter before the 5-day window. If a player wants to play and enters after the 5-day period it may be permissible depending on tee time availability and field size.
